Well I'm back from Alaska and what an awesome trip that was. I highly recommend it to anyone interested, although next time I'd like to do some of the sight seeing before the cruise on my own as opposed to with a tour.

Massive amounts of Alaska pictures!Collapse )

Well we're here in cold and beautiful Alaska!! I was going to post a few pictures but I can't find them on my cousin's laptop so pictures will be forthcoming later.

We stayed in Anchorage on the first night and saw Mt.McKinley in the distance. The next day we headed up to Denali and stayed overnight just outside the park in a little hotel along the Nenana river. It was completely awesome.

Denali was a little disappointing because of the tour guide ... she talked non stop and wouldn't shut up to let you enjoy the view ... which was completely and totally awesome!!! We saw glimpses of Denali (Mt. McKinley) and some Caribou. At the Visitor's Center we saw Dall Sheep up on the mountains and then some Dall Sheep up on the mountains.

We then went to Talkeetna where we stayed in a nice lodge and walked through their "Northern Exposure" like town. On the way back a moose walked in front of our bus and we had to brake like crazy to avoid hitting her while her baby ran around along the other side. It was neat to see them so close.

Now we are on the ship and we just saw the Hubbard Glacier. The glacier was "calving" (dropping ice) while we were there and it was pretty awesome.

Tomorrow we go to Skagway and take a ride on the White Pass Railway.

Hopefully we'll figure out how to get the pictures loaded up and we'll have some for you soon otherwise I'll post them when I get back.

Hugs to you all!
